BLESMA The Limbless Veterans BLESMA provides support to service men and women who lose limbs, eyes or use of limbs or sight. It is able to offer grants to make life easier to pay for items such as wheelchairs, stairlifts and car adaptations.
Can veterans lose their disability benefits?
The VA cannot terminate these benefits unless you committed fraud or unless the VA made a “clear and unmistakable error” in granting you benefits (CUE). If you receive a notice from the VA that your service-connected benefits may be terminated, contact a disability lawyer right away.
Do disabled veterans pay vehicle taxes in Colorado?
Under Colorado law, eligible veterans do not pay vehicle ownership taxes or license fees on their first set of Disabled Veteran, Handicap Disabled Veteran, Former Prisoner of War, Purple Heart, Medal of Honor and Medal of Valor license plates. Sales tax does still apply. Additional sets may be obtained at a cost.
