Does putting foam in a boat help it float?
You’re not affecting the buoyancy of the boat by adding foam in it, you’re just adding weight. Yes you are! In fact you could be decreasing the buoyancy of the boat. The reason a boat (or any object) floats, is the weight of the boat is less than the weight of the water that it displaces.
